An essential member of the Army's intelligence team is the military intelligence systems maintainer/integrator. Duties include:
• Handling and repairing communications equipment
• Working with circuits and wiring
• Stringing overhead cables between utility poles
• Preparing forms and reports on maintenance
• Handling oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and wire diagrams
These responsibilities are tied to effective communications necessary for successful Army operations.
Training
To become an Army MI systems maintainer/integrator, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 44 weeks of advance individual training. Classroom instruction includes:
• Principles on mechanics, electronics and electricity
• Procedures on preventive maintenance
• Computer hardware and software
• Repairing multiple systems/subsystems
