| Job Description |
The Army intelligence analyst is an integral member in providing vital information regarding enemy forces and possible battle areas. This specialist analyzes, processes and distributes strategic and tactical intelligence. Duties include:
- Preparing the intelligence material for the combat commander and for Army records
- Helping establish and maintain related records and files
- Processing related reports and messages
- Assisting in analyzing incoming information and intelligence records
- Entering and retrieving computer data
Training
To become an Army intelligence analyst, you must complete nine weeks of basic training, which consists of basic soldiering skills, and 18 weeks of advanced individual training. Classroom and in-the-field instruction covers:
- Analytical skills
- Preparation of maps, charts and Army records
- Military symbols
- Computer skills
Helpful skills
An ideal candidate for an Army intelligence analyst should:
- Be interested in maps and charts and information gathering
- Be able to organize information effectively
- Think and write clearly
In time, you may achieve an advanced level for an Army intelligence analyst with supervisory and training responsibilities. |
