| Job Description |
The Navy gas turbine systems technician is an integral member ensuring success in battle and maneuvering practice. This specialist is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining gas turbine engines. The job also includes work on main propulsion machinery, including gears, shafts and controllable pitch.
Training
Nearly every Navy enlisted soldier undergoes eight weeks of basic training, which consists of basic skills needed for Navy activities. Advanced individual training is usually required for specialization. The length of time needed for advanced training varies depending on the area of specialization.
